Bia Analytical Joins Pan-European AI Initiative “KnoWare” to Drive Real-World Impact
Bia Analytical is proud to announce its participation in the KnoWare project, a major European initiative exploring the next generation of artificial intelligence and how it can be applied in real-world scenarios.
Bringing together leading research institutions and industry partners from across Europe, KnoWare is focused on unlocking new and emerging capabilities of AI – particularly in areas where its potential has not yet been fully realised.
As part of the programme, Bia Analytical is playing a critical role as a use-case partner, helping to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical application.

With deep expertise in data, laboratory services and applied analytics, Bia Analytical will act as a benchmark for how AI solutions can be implemented within operational environments. The KnoWare project is expected to run over a multi-year period, during which the consortium will explore new use cases for AI and develop approaches that can transform how organisations operate.

About KnoWare:
KnoWare is an EU Horizon-funded research project focused on anticipating, assessing, and governing emerging capabilities and risks in General Purpose AI (GPAI) systems. As AI models grow in scale and complexity, they develop unexpected behaviours that no one explicitly programmed, capabilities that can surface suddenly and carry serious so risks. KnoWare addresses this challenge by introducing a novel methodology called capabilities prefiguration: detecting early signals that a new AI capability is forming, before it fully emerges.
The project brings together 14 partners across Europe, to build a comprehensive capability-to-risk mapping framework, develop next-generation benchmarking tools, and provide actionable guidance for AI providers and regulators, in direct support of EU AI Act compliance.
