Bia Analytical, Queen’s University Belfast, and ESTA sign Memorandum of Understanding
This week Bia Analytical and ESTA (European Speciality Tea Association) attended a Tea Authenticity Workshop hosted by Queen’s University Belfast, focussing on addressing the challenges around tea authenticity.
During the meeting the group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a ground-breaking new strategy for collaborative working, with the aim to assemble a focus group of experts from both academia, scientific testing and industry stakeholders.
The group have agreed to unite for the purpose of information sharing and to better understand the specific needs from within the tea industry. The outcome of this will focus on the development of a robust scientific approach addressing industry concerns through a tea authenticity testing programme, to further support methodology transfer and will be specifically optimized for industry needs.
Bia Analytical are delighted to enter into this new partnership and are looking forward to exploring future collaborative opportunities and shared learnings.
Pictured here having signed the memorandum are Professor Chris Elliott of Queens University, Dr. Terry Mcgrath of Bia Analytical and Nigel Melican, President of European Speciality Tea Association.
