Portable Device Launch Event
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Wednesday 20th March in the Great Hall in Queen’s University Belfast, an auspicious location for a significant day in Bia Analytical.
Those attending were treated to great talks by Prof Chris Elliott OBE, sharing his view on the challenges with food quality and access in the face of climate change and geopolitical challenges. He emphasised the need for those in the food industry to “test, test, test” to ensure integrity and authenticity.
Dr Terry McGrath, shared a fascinating insight into the journey from the first conversation regarding authenticity of products right through the research phase up to the launch of a portable device today.
Everyone present got the opportunity to try out the portable device for themselves and experience what science looks like when it leaves the lab in an accessible manner. Within 10 seconds they got to see whether the product they were testing was authentic or adulterated.
We’re very excited to reach this milestone and look forward to working with our partners and customers to bring a new level of early-stage screening and intervention into their safety and quality audit programme.
